A man accused of the murder of a 19-year-old student in her central student accommodation appeared in court today.
Maher Maroufe, 23, allegedly killed Sabita Thanwani on March 19 this year at Arbour House, Sebastian Street, in Clerkenwell.
Ms Thanwani was studying psychology at City University of London, which is near to the student accommodation where she died.
Maroufe is also accused of assaulting police officer James Preston by head-butting him during his arrest the following day.

Appearing over video link from HMP Broadmoor, he spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth.
He is believed to have been in a relationship with Ms Thanwani.
Officers found Maroufe sleeping under a tarpaulin in a garden shed following a police appeal.
Recorder of London Judge Mark Lucraft, KC, set Maroufe's next court appearance for 27 January 2023 at the Old Bailey when he will have the charges put to him.
Maaroufe, of no fixed address, remains in confinement at HMP Broadmoor until that date.
