Directed by the celebrated Gowtam Tinnanuri, VD12 is produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the studios of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas. The eagerly awaited teaser for Vijay Deverakonda’s anticipated nationwide spy action thriller, tentatively titled VD12, is ready to be dropped on the 12th of this month. The movie features the versatile Bhagyashri Borse in the main role. Latest reports show that famous stars from multiple entertainment industries will lend their voices for the trailers. The music for the film is scored by Anirudh Ravichander. Hindi film industry heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor will voice the Hindi teaser, while Kollywood actor Suriya and Tollywood Collections star NTR will lend their voices for the Tamil language and Telugu versions, respectively.
The production team did not invest in marketing the Telugu version, and the film was met with poor reception from local media. Despite the divided opinions, the film had a strong opening in Tamil Nadu, due to Ajith's fame. Ajith's market presence in this region has not been consistent, leading to poor occupancy rates for *Pattudala* across Telugu theaters. The film's prospects are further dimmed by the competition from *Thandel*, starring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi, which releases today. This action thriller, directed by Magizh Thirumeni—known for *Thadam*—has garnered praise for Ajith’s acting, yet critics have pointed out that the second half is marred from a lack of pace and lackluster storytelling. In contrast, the film has faced difficulties in the Telugu states, where it struggled to find success at the box office. It is yet to be seen whether this gangster action drama can turn the tide for Ajith in Telugu cinema. All eyes are now on his upcoming project, *Good Bad Ugly*, produced by Mythri Movie Makers and directed by Adhik Ravichandran.
