Del Bosque steps down as Spain manager three days after Euro 2016 exit

Spain coach Vicente del Bosque has resigned following eight years in charge after the country's poor performance at Euro 2016. Del Bosque was unable to guide the defending European champions beyond the last 16 in France after suffering a 2-0 defeat by Italy in Paris on Monday.  The 65-year-old - who was in the hot seat as the national team won the World Cup in 2010 and European Championship two years later - was expected to call time on his tenure.
