'But we are calling for a change, a radical change, because obviously, in the context of one billion people being classified as having obesity in the world today, and with a number that is projected to increase, no country is rich enough to be able to afford inaccuracy in the diagnosis of obesity.'
Explaining why alcohol is allowed, Ms Pearson says: 'We want to ensure that the plan is sustainable for people long term and for many, the ability to have a couple of glasses of wine a week is something they enjoy.'

Conor added: 'I had very low self-esteem and severe anxiety, and it made me feel physically sick whenever I would try to go out the front door - I would also feel increasingly worried that people would judge my size.
'So, despite feeling physically sick when I began going out I knew it was the time to do something and I felt that my cousin had given me the strength to overcome the barriers I put up to keep myself housebound.
He has only explicitly mentioned Yellow 5, but similar ingredients that could be under the microscope are Red 40, Blue 1, titanium dioxide, propylparaben and potassium bromate, which are often added to sweets and baked goods.
The revolutionary model could see people being shifted into two new subtypes to distinguish between people who are fat but perfectly Healthy food pyramid - or 'pre-clinical obesity' - and those who are genuinely sick with 'clinical obesity'.
An NHS England spokesperson said: 'Nice (the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) has published updated guidance regarding the identification, assessment, treatment and personalised care of people who are overweight or living with obesity.
'So if paediatric people stop measuring height and weight, I think that's almost the death of paediatrics to some extent - growth is part of childhood and abnormalities and growth are actually part of highlighting health problems.'
